The festival of independent spaces goes into its 2024 edition. All participating spaces will collectively open their doors and invite visitors to explore a multitude of freely accessible exhibitions from 2pm to 6pm, combined with a dense program of special events and exhibition openings. This format creates a unique opportunity to experience Vienna’s scene, in an intimate manner, at the locations directly involved with artistic production.

Independent Space Index is an initiative of Viennese independent spaces, aimed at increasing the visibility of independent artistic production, strengthening solidarity among like-minded cultural initiatives, and highlighting their contribution to the Viennese art scene. The network and its festival have been the largest joint endeavour of independent art spaces in Vienna since its founding and first festival edition.
